Emergency Roadside Service in Central Florida
When your RV or bus breaks down, the last thing you need is to wait hours for someone who does not understand your vehicle. A standard roadside assistance provider might be able to jump-start a sedan or change a car tire, but when you are sitting on the shoulder of I-4 in a 40-foot diesel pusher with air brake issues, you need a team that knows exactly what they are looking at—and has the tools to fix it.
Our mobile service truck is equipped with factory-level diagnostic tools, common replacement parts, and the expertise to handle RV and bus emergencies right where you are. We are not sending a tow truck driver with a flashlight and a prayer. We are sending a trained technician who works on these vehicles every day at our Lakeland shop—and who can bring that same capability to the roadside.
We serve the I-4 corridor, US-98, US-27, and the greater Central Florida area from our Lakeland base. Available during business hours with priority response for stranded travelers. If your trip has come to an unexpected stop, we are the call that gets it moving again.
Roadside Services We Provide
On-Site Diagnostics
Our mobile truck carries factory-level scan tools capable of reading engine codes, transmission faults, ABS warnings, and body control module errors across all major RV and bus platforms. We can diagnose engine codes, electrical issues, and system faults right where you are—no guessing, no unnecessary towing. When a check engine light strands you at a rest stop, we do not need to haul your coach to a shop just to find out what is wrong. We read the codes on-site, interpret them accurately, and determine whether the repair can be completed roadside or requires shop work. That honest, immediate answer saves you time, money, and the stress of not knowing what you are dealing with.
Common Roadside Repairs
Many breakdowns can be resolved on the spot without towing, and our mobile truck is stocked to handle the most frequent roadside failures. We carry the parts and tools to perform:
- Belt and hose replacement — serpentine belts, coolant hoses, and heater hoses that fail without warning in Florida heat
- Coolant leak repair — pinpointing and patching leaks before an overheating event causes serious engine damage
- Fuel system issues — clogged filters, failed fuel pumps, and contaminated fuel that leaves you stranded
- Battery jump and replacement — chassis batteries and house batteries that fail at the worst possible moment
- Alternator failure — when the charging system dies, everything downstream stops working
- Starter repair — a no-crank condition at a campground or truck stop does not have to mean a tow
- Air brake emergencies — compressor issues, leaking lines, and slack adjuster problems that make your vehicle unsafe to drive
- Tire changes — RV and bus tires require specialized equipment and knowledge that standard roadside providers do not have
If we can fix it on the spot, we will. If a repair requires more time or tooling than the roadside allows, we will tell you honestly and coordinate the fastest path to getting it done right.
Generator Emergencies
Generator will not start? In most climates, that is an inconvenience. In Florida, it is a safety issue. When your generator fails and you lose air conditioning in 95-degree heat with humidity to match, the interior of your RV can reach dangerous temperatures within minutes—especially for elderly passengers, children, or pets. We can diagnose and often repair generator problems on-site, including no-start conditions, fuel delivery failures, control board faults, and overheating shutdowns. Our technicians are experienced with Cummins Onan, Generac, and Kohler generators and carry common replacement parts on the mobile truck. Getting your generator running is not just about comfort—it is about keeping the people inside your coach safe.
Towing Coordination
If the repair requires shop work, we do not leave you to figure out the logistics on your own. We coordinate towing for your RV or bus back to our Lakeland facility, working with flatbed and heavy-duty towing services that are experienced with oversized vehicles. Towing a 45-foot motorhome is not the same as towing a pickup truck—it requires the right equipment, the right driver, and the right approach to avoid causing additional damage. We have established relationships with towing companies that understand these vehicles, and we manage the process from the roadside to our shop bay so you do not have to make a dozen phone calls while standing on the side of the highway.
Areas We Serve
Our mobile roadside assistance operates from our Lakeland base and covers a wide area across Central Florida. We respond to breakdowns and emergencies in:
- Lakeland, Winter Haven, Auburndale — our home territory with the fastest response times
- Plant City, Bartow, Haines City — close proximity for rapid dispatch
- Davenport, Kissimmee, Orlando (south) — covering the eastern I-4 corridor toward the theme park region
- Tampa (east) — serving the western I-4 corridor into Hillsborough County
- I-4 corridor from Tampa to Orlando — the most heavily traveled RV route in Central Florida
- Polk County, Osceola County, Hillsborough County (east) — comprehensive coverage across three counties
If you are broken down within our service area, call us. If you are slightly outside our normal range, call us anyway—we will tell you honestly whether we can reach you or help you find someone closer who can.
What to Do When You Break Down
A breakdown is stressful, but how you handle the first few minutes makes a real difference in your safety and in how quickly we can get to you. Here is what to do:
- Pull safely off the road with your hazards on. Get as far from traffic as possible. If you are on the interstate, move to the right shoulder and stay inside the vehicle unless it is unsafe to do so. Turn on your four-way flashers immediately.
- Call us at (863) 774-4570. Describe your location as precisely as you can—highway, mile marker, exit number, or address. Tell us what happened: what symptoms you noticed, any warning lights, unusual sounds, or smells. The more detail you give us, the better prepared our technician will be when they arrive.
- Stay with your vehicle if safe to do so. Do not attempt repairs on the side of a busy highway. If your vehicle is in a dangerous location and you need to exit, move well away from the travel lanes and wait for help.
- We will dispatch our mobile service truck or coordinate the fastest solution. Depending on your location and the nature of the problem, we will either send our mobile technician directly to you or arrange the most efficient path to getting your vehicle repaired—whether that is a roadside fix, towing to our shop, or connecting you with the closest qualified resource.
- If it is after hours, leave a voicemail. We return calls first thing in the morning. Include your name, phone number, location, and a description of the problem. If your situation is urgent and you cannot wait until morning, your voicemail helps us prioritize your call the moment we open.
Why Call Nationwide Haul?
When you are stranded on the side of the road, you have choices about who to call. Here is why RV and bus owners across Central Florida call us:
- We specialize in RVs and buses — not just cars and light trucks. Your vehicle is fundamentally different from a passenger car, and it requires a technician who understands air brakes, diesel engines, house electrical systems, hydraulic leveling, and generator integration. That is what we do every single day.
- Factory-level diagnostic tools on our mobile truck. We do not show up with a basic code reader and hope for the best. Our mobile unit carries the same caliber of scan tools and diagnostic equipment we use in our Lakeland shop, capable of communicating with engine, transmission, ABS, and body control modules.
- ASE-Certified technicians who know your vehicle. The technician who arrives at your roadside is the same caliber of professional who works in our shop bays—trained, certified, and experienced with the specific platforms and systems in your RV or bus.
- Honest assessment — we will tell you if it can be fixed roadside or needs shop work. We are not going to waste your time attempting a repair that belongs in a shop, and we are not going to tow your vehicle unnecessarily when a 30-minute roadside fix will get you back on the road. You get a straight answer, every time.
- Familiar with all major RV and bus platforms. Tiffin, Winnebago, Thor, Fleetwood, Newmar, Prevost, Blue Bird, Thomas Built, IC Bus—we have worked on them all. No matter what you are driving, we have seen it before.
- Warranty-friendly repairs even on the roadside. We document every repair with the same thoroughness as our in-shop work. If your vehicle is under an extended warranty or protection plan, our roadside documentation supports your claim just as our shop invoices do.
